Our Staff

The goal of the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Curry County is to evangelize and disciple the community youth in the area.   The CEF has a contingent of staff members that work together like a fine-tuned piece of machinery!   Below is a list of the state and local CEF staff, each special to the cause in their own way!

Rod Franz

Headquarters for the Oregon CEF, which includes 23 districts, is found in Salem, Oregon.  Even though the Oregon CEF is but a small part of the world wide organization, found in at least 157 countries, the Oregon director is very capable and dedicated, and our state organization is very fortunate to have him.  Rod's wife, Betty, is also involved in the CEF ministry, and she is the local director for Marion County which surrounds the Salem area.

Rod's work goes well beyond Oregon.  In the summer months he journeys to central Africa, to places like Kenya and Nigeria, where he trains and works with CEF teachers.

Rumor has it that the Salem office is a fun place to visit, since Rod has a cache of jokes and good humor to share with anyone walking through the front door!

Gregg Elrod

Our friend, Gregg Elrod, The Chapter Director for the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Curry County, recently went home to be with the Lord.  Please use this link and briefly consider Gregg's legacy as servant for his Master.

Nancy Goodman

The interim director for Curry County CEF clubs is Nancy Goodman of Coos Bay, Oregon.  Nancy is actively pursuing recruitment of qualified teachers that will continue the work that was directed by the late Gregg Elrod.

Ruth Wilson

Leading the local CEF is no small task.   Ruth is up to the job!

Her background includes many years as a teacher of 2nd graders at Kalmiopsis Elementary.   As if being executive director of the local CEF wasn't enough, Ruth continues to teach within the school release program at Kalmiopsis, her old almamater!

Mary Fox

As treasurer, Mary handles all the accounts receivable and accounts payable.   She runs into the bank so often that they greet her with open arms!   Mary comes from a long line of CEFers since her mother and father were also very much involved with the world wide group!

In addition to her CEF work, Mary is involved in a big way with the local Boy Scouts (BSA), and she even allows enough time to work full-time at the Special Touch shop in north Brookings.

Marie Morris

The newest member to the Curry County CEF team is Marie.   Her position as CEF secretary is an important one, but perhaps the best quality she brings to the team is her unbridled enthusiasm!   This stellar attribute helps keep the entire group on track!

The children also are happy with Marie, since her efforts result in most of the hand made crafts which are used for prizes for winners of the various contests held during CEF meeting times!
