On September 16th, 2005, a very special friend of our community went home to be with the Lord.
Gregg Elrod will be missed for now, but
someday we will all rejoice in the great
reunion of all believers!Gregg was born on January 8, 1954 in Medford, Oregon. He died September 16, 2005 in Brookings, Oregon. Following his schooling, he became a logger, and he cut timber for many years in northern California. In 1984 he married Dixie Claflin of Hood River, Oregon. In October, 2001, Gregg, Dixie, and their two sons Allen and Steven, moved to Brookings, Oregon. Since 2001, Gregg worked as a missionary for Child Evangelism Fellowship, and he worked with the area youth in Curry County. He and his entire family worked to bring as many youth as possible to a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. (Gregg also helped develop this local CEF web site.) He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brookings, and there he served as a deacon, a youth leader, and a Sunday School teacher for high school students. Gregg was a committed servant of the Lord. He was definitely a leader in many ways, and he will certainly be missed. |
